About Bec
Bec is a multidisciplinary artist blending passions for art, science and the human experience into a tangible experience for you - creating physical memories.
After studying Applied Science and working in the corporate world, Bec followed her creature feature dreams becoming a Prosthetic Makeup Artist working in Film & TV. Working on productions for the US Sy Fy channel & ABC, and also as a freelance artist has given Bec the opportunity to fine-tune her material science knowledge and work with an array of talented professionals.
Highlights of Bec’s career include working with Creature Technology Company creating dinosaur skins for large-scale animatronics, traveling to LA and meeting the world leading FX artists, teaching Diploma students the art of 3D body forms, and mentoring disabled artists with Arts Access Victoria.
Ever curious, during the pandemic Bec a trained as a Dental Technican and began making oral prosthetics. This has lead to further opportunities in the healthcare space and is now working in public healthcare as a Prosthetics Technicain making prosthesis for amputees.
Recently diagnosed as neurodivergent, Bec takes pride in creating a safe space to bear skin - share the stories of our lives and be strong in our vulnerabilities - this personal connection and trust with clients is a process Bec treasures.
Bex FX Studio values respect and integrity and is a proud LGBTQIA+ safe space.
